The 3D model of Messi was made for QB9, an argentinian game developent company, for the mobile game “Messi Runner”. Modeled with Blender and rendered with Cycles. This high poly model was the reference for the low poly models for the mobile game. It required 3D modeling, animation, sound and music composition and video editing. And thanks to a great team we managed to conclude it successfully. Gonzalo D’alessando, Juan Martin Otegui, Omar Skarlatiuk, Pablo Gomez, Juan Manuel Campos, Andrea Cabrera, Alejandra Mendoza and Luis Roach.
Here you can see the wireframes and process of poly modeling of the head.
The expressions were made with shapekeys and bones manipulating them.
In the beginning the style was more cartoonish and in the end it was a bit more “realistic”. It is still cartoonist but not so much.
This is another example of 3D Game Art Outsourcing that we can offer to other Video Game developer companies.
